The Beer of the Month for February is Harpoon’s Spruce Tip Ale. Part of Harpoon’s 100 barrel series, this brew will only be available for a limited time. Yes, it does have a distinctly “spruce” flavor, coupled with a otherwise medium heavy, caramel colored beer. It’s very Christmasy for sure, but certainly fits the dismal February weather here in Boston.
Weighing in at 7% ABV, this beer is also strong. It’s certainly a unique beer and another solid step for Harpoon in proving that they are Boston’s best brewer (sorry Sam Adams).

I will take Harpoon all day over Sam Adams. I enjoy Sam Adams, but Harpoon has passed them many times over in the last few years. I’ll keep an eye out for the Spruce Tip Ale, but unfortunately I dont get many limited time beers like that around here.
Yeah I like Harpoon better too. Is Harpoon marketed nationally? Chris Kelley – Framingham.
Idk how far nationally but I can get Harpoon in NYC and north Jersey. I’ve also seen it in Philly. Its usually the seasonal brews, so I assume they wouldn’t send a limited edition beer down here.
